Some Post Covid-19 Frequently Asked Questions:
Please refer to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario page for any questions that you may have by visiting the following link:
https://www.rcdso.org/en-ca/patients-general-public/covid-19--novel-coronavirus-for-patients

During these exceptional times, our priority is to keep you and our frontline staff safe. We have always had exceptional infection control but several new things have been added to ensure everyone’s safety. As a result, there will be a small fee of $18 to help contribute to these new safety measures. Thank you for your understanding.

Before coming to your appointment, please familiarize yourself with the new office protocols put in place for your health and safety described below. Please note that they will be strictly enforced.

• We will ask you to go online on our website https://rideaudental.ca/forms/ or click on the following link https://hipaa.jotform.com/201398618342054 and fill out a screening questionnaire  before giving you an appointment.  You will be asked to fill out the same form again a second time on the day of your appointment before you arrive to the clinic. The link to those questions are also  under the "Forms" tab on top of our website home page above.

• Only patients with an appointment and a guardian for very young children are allowed into the clinic.

• Please brush and use Rideau Centre mall washrooms before arriving as washrooms on site will be no longer be accessible.

• Please come to your appointment wearing a mask. If you do not own a mask, one will be provided to you.

• No food or drinks are permitted on the premises.

• You will be asked to call us when you arrive at the office and wait at the door until a sanitized room is ready. A staff member will come greet you, take your temperature with a touch-free thermometer, give you some hand sanitizer and bring you directly back to the operatory.

• Our reception area will no longer be a waiting room.

• Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

• Please reschedule your appointment if anyone in your household has been sick within the last 2 weeks.

• You may be surprised that we’re wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields, gowns – than we normally do during your visit.

• You will notice air purifiers in every operatory to provide you with a clean air environment.

Rest assured, all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team.

See you next week!

Sincerely,
The team at Rideau Dental Centre

To all patients of Rideau Dental Centre,

Life has been anything but normal this spring and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health.

We are happy to inform you that we will soon be able to once again provide dental care for you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and, in order to keep us all protected during this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different.

Thank you for patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,
The Team at Rideau Dental Centre

May 28, 2020

At Rideau Dental Centre, our first concern is for the health and safety of our patients and our staff. We are aware that all Health Care Providers are permitted to gradually restart deferred and non-essential and elective services, subject to the Ministry of Health requirements.

We are currently in the process of procurring all necessary Personal Protective Equipment and are making changes to our office to satisfy all safety guidelines. Because of the limited chain of supply, we will remain closed until we can safely accomodate everybody.

At this time, we still encourage our patients of record to email their treating dentist at the following email addresses in the event of a dental emergency

[EDIT: Please note that Dentist emergency emails are no longer monitored as of June 14, 2020.]

If you are not a patient of record, please contact the Ottawa Dental Society Emergency Services at 613-523-4185.

The office will be closed pending further direction from the RCDSO. We will be in contact with all patients as soon as we are able to resume our regular dental treatments.

Please be safe,
